How to Generate Ideas for Gigs to Sell on Fiverr

For those who are thinking about becoming a freelancer on Fiverr.com and opening an online shop, the question “What should I sell on Fiverr?” is a crucial one to answer.

Fiverr has grown in popularity as a location for people to try their hands at self-employment of all kinds, from the occasional extra cash of a “side-gig” to the security of a full-time income replacement.

It can be intimidating to go headfirst into Fiverr. The services offered by Fiverr sellers range from the commonplace (web design, photo editing, copywriting, and proofreading) to the bizarre (celebrity impersonations, birthday songs performed by singers in various states of undress, video greetings from puppets, and much more).

Did you know that Fiverr is home to creative individuals who offer one-of-a-kind wares to customers all over the world? Unique works of art, handmade goods, and other presents can also be purchased here.

What hope does a new vendor have amongst the plethora of existing goods and services? These are three ways to kickstart your own Fiverr gig ideas.

The first step is to look at other gigs to get ideas.

Explore the site and take a look at the products that are for sale. The majority of what you see won’t strike a chord with you, but some of it just could. Remember those performances. The point isn’t to mimic other vendors’ offerings exactly, but rather to explore what sparks ideas for your own special wares.

Let’s pretend you come across a gig offering twenty blog comments for five bucks. Perhaps this indicates a need for a gig in which fewer comments are solicited in exchange for those that are more in-depth in terms of analysis, engagement, and scope. To put it another way, you aren’t stealing customers because people who want 20 comments aren’t the same as those who want 1-2 comments.

Address purchasers’ concerns.

To what end do prospective buyers require your services? Make gigs that solve widespread issues. The majority of Fiverr’s customers are business owners who are looking to delegate some of their labour to independent contractors. Is there anything you can do to ensure they get what they need done?

Check out the Buyer Requests page on Fiverr for more inspiration. In order to access this content, you must first register for an account. Sign in to Fiverr, navigate to the Sales tab at the top of the page, and from there you’ll see the Perks section on the right, followed by the Buyer Requests button.

Customers post brief requests for the goods and services they seek, and vendors react with links to their Fiverr “gigs.” Go through the wants to determine what customers need, and use that information to inform what kinds of gigs you can offer. After observing the requests for a while, you may identify some patterns that can serve as inspiration for future performances.

Next, make a list of your credentials, including your education, work experience, and personal interests.

Never say never; any given performance could explode in popularity. Products and services for businesses are not the only ones available on Fiverr. Some people want to enrich their lives by expanding their horizons and engaging in new activities.

Do you enjoy drawing? If your portraiture is particularly striking, you might be able to make a living from commissions. Could you describe yourself as a skilled cook? You may start a business peddling the tasty concoctions you’ve perfected over the years. How up-to-date are you on the car industry? You may start a side hustle helping customers who need assistance with car purchases.

Jot down anything you can think of about yourself, including your employment history, education, hobbies, interests, and other relevant information. If you don’t make this list, you might miss out on some great gig ideas.

Don’t be too hard on yourself when you brainstorm; just let the ideas flow, write them down, and review them when you have more time. Choose one or two ideas from your list and begin developing them further on a new sheet of paper or in a new file on your computer after you’ve spent ten minutes or so in brainstorming mode. Maintain a steady rhythm of coming up with new ideas and thinking.

Last but not least, be patient with a new Fiverr gig. Due to the sheer volume of gigs, it may take several weeks, if not months, for people to find yours. If you don’t notice results straight away, don’t give up and delete it. Meanwhile, keep looking for work. You will eventually locate one (or several) that suits your needs.
